Autism is a natural variation in how people experience and interact with the world. It involves differences in communication, social interaction, thinking patterns, and sensory processing. Rather than viewing autism as a disorder to be "fixed," we recognise it as a neurodevelopmental difference that comes with its own strengths and challenges.
Autistic individuals may have a unique way of seeing the world; often with deep focus, creative thinking, and strong passions. They might also find social situations, changes in routine, or certain sensory environments overwhelming. Every autistic person is different, and assessments help us better understand their individual profile and needs.
Our autism assessments are respectful, evidence-based, and person-centred. Whether you're seeking clarity, support, or access to resources, we aim to provide a safe space where neurodiversity is valued, and people of all ages feel seen and understood.
Autism Assessments are available for young children from preschool age, through to adults. (Age 3+)
At Strive Hive, autism assessments are a team effort. Two practitioners will be involved in the assessment process which may involve:
- Parent Interview and Developmental History
- Cognitive Assessment
- Adaptive Assessment
- Comprehensive Behavioural Assessment
- Developmental Assessment including the MIGDAS-2 and CARS-2.
During the initial interview with your practitioner, the appropriateness of a comprehensive assessment can be discussed and a suitable assessment package recommended. Rates for assessments will be confirmed by administration once the lead practitioner has determined specific inclusions.
