How much does it cost?
A standard consultation is 50 minutes.
The cost to see a Clinical Psychologist is $260. There is a Medicare rebate of $141.85 available for eligible clients.
The cost to see a General Psychologist is $220. There is a Medicare rebate of $96.65 available for eligible clients.
Note: The APS recommended fee for 2024-25 is $311 for a 45-60 min consultation.

Couples Therapy is run as a 75 minute consultation with a cost of $300 and no Medicare rebates are available for these consultations.
What is a Mental Health Treatment Plan and do I need one?
You will need a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) from your GP if you wish to claim back a Medicare rebate on your psychology sessions. Please provide a copy of your MHTP prior to your first appointment. You can also book psychology sessions privately without a referral or MHTP. Some private health funds do cover psychology sessions, but this will depend on your individual cover.
