Cognitive assessments are not about measuring worth or potential. Rather, they provide insight into a person’s unique cognitive profile—highlighting both strengths and areas where support may be helpful.
Cognitive assessments can be helpful for a variety of reasons across the lifespan:
Cognitive Assessments are available for young children through to adulthood (ages 3+)
At Strive Hive, cognitive assessments are conducted by registered psychologists using standardised tools such as the WISC-V (for children), WAIS-IV (for adults), or WPPSI-IV (for younger children). The process typically includes:
- Parent Interview and developmental history
- One-on-one testing using appropriate psychometric tool
- Relevant Parent and Teacher Questionnaires
- Comprehensive report with recommendations
During the initial interview with your practitioner, the appropriateness of a comprehensive assessment can be discussed and a suitable assessment package recommended. Rates for assessments will be confirmed by administration once the lead practitioner has determined specific inclusions.
