Trauma is a response to deeply distressing or overwhelming events that can leave a lasting impact on a person’s emotional and psychological wellbeing. This may include experiences such as abuse, accidents, loss, violence, or other events where a person felt unsafe or powerless. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can develop when these experiences continue to affect a person’s thoughts, emotions, or sense of safety long after the event. Common signs include flashbacks, nightmares, heightened anxiety, emotional numbness, or avoidance of reminders of the trauma. At our practice, we offer a compassionate, evidence-based approach to help individuals process trauma, restore a sense of control, and move toward healing at their own pace.
