We want to help you to "strive to be ..." But we need you to fill in the blank. Not everyone has the same values and goals in life. So please, tell us yours and let's see how we can move towards it.
It is very helpful to attend your first session with a clear goal in mind. Something specific and measurable. Rather than only focusing on the 'problem' this allows us to focus on what you are trying to gain and why it is important for you.
For example:
Instead of "decrease anxiety" you might say "I am striving for more confidence - to be able to give a speech to my classmates and to make two new friends this year"
Instead of "for my child to stop arguing with me and hurting his sibling" you might say "I am striving for a more peaceful home-life - for my children to keep their hands to themselves and use their inside voices, even when they don't get what they want"

We recognise their enduring connection to Country, culture, community, and the knowledge they have shared across generations. We are committed to listening, learning, and contributing to a future that honours Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and histories.
